Plantings of Today
Worked just a bit in the garden today, mostly watering and inspecting. Harvested most of the rest of the radishes. About a third of them had split from over watering. One turnip was inter-mixed with the radishes. We cut it up and added it to our salad as well.
In the place of the radishes I planted 3 of the tomato plants that I bought. I think they are Big Boys. Around them I also planted some marigolds to help control some of the bugs. I planted marigolds in a few other strategic places as well.
Among the corn I planted some yellow squash. I picked out some spots that had not sprouted corn and put two seeds down. I planted three sets total. The first set is in the 6th row (1st row of corn) about 1/2 way down. The second set is in the 7th row just on the other side of the fourth corn seedling. The third set is in I believe the 9th row. It is about 1/2 way up the row as well.
Over near the cucumbers Aimee and I sprinkled some herbs just below the surface. There are three little patches. The first is Parsley, second Basil and last Cilantro.
Cultivars Planted today:
Squash, Early Prolific Straightneck, Summer Squash, Burpee
Parsley, Italian, Walmart Gardens
Basil, Genovese, American Seed
Cilantro, Coriander, American Seed
